American Angler/Penn 10-Day Trip (Online)
The Penn Fishing University anglers on the 10-day long-range trip aboard Captain Sam Patella’s American Angler out of Point Loma Sportfishing [619-224-1421] in late October experienced classic fall long-range fishing at a level not seen for a decade or more.

The Eastern Sierra trout season starts the last Saturday in April ( this year  it’s April 30) and ends November 15 in Inyo County and Mono County.  Usually cold weather conditions dictate that only the real diehards are fishing in mid-November but fishing is available if you are up in that area.

Have you ever wondered what might be the best tide or moon phase to surf fish? There’s no doubt both of these occurrences have a big effect on surf fishing.

As the 2011 California Offshore Challenge grew nearer, so did the prospect of the continuing stormy weather. Leading up to the tournament, Los Angeles was only a ½ inch behind Seattle in annual rainfall for the season, and they were having a wet season! Storm after storm dumped several inches on the coast without any relief in sight.
