•PFU Excel 7-Day Trip(Online) Some 25 Penn Fishing University anglers headed south in early July for a 7-day long-range fishing adventure aboard the magnificent Excel out of Fisherman’s Landing in San Diego, with veteran Captain Mike Ramirez at the helm.
•Huge Billy Goat Caught Spear Fishing is Pending State Record(Online) It would turn out to be a day that none of us would ever forget. We headed out early Monday morning, July 25th, 2011, from Huntington Harbor across the channel to Catalina for a day of spear fishing on the boat REJOYCE.
•"Old School" Tuna Tactics (Online) There have been many articles written about the basics of tuna fishing. Usually they provide information about tuna fishing terminology and advice given by the boat captain at the beginning of each trip; keep the wind in your face; keep your line in front of you, cooperate with an angler who is hooked up; choose the right bait and when in doubt – “Ask the Crew”!!
•Three Top Surf Fish for Fall (Online) There’s no question, my three favorite fall surf fish are corbina, perch and croaker. Fall is their peak season to prowl the inner surf and search for food. Each tide brings schools of fish near shore and gives us a chance to hunt for these top surf fish.
